1. Service Description
ScraperQ is a Chrome extension that helps users extract structured data from publicly accessible web pages. The Service includes AI-powered element detection, template-based data workflows, API-aware extraction, data export (CSV, JSON, Excel, Google Sheets), and automatic selector repair. The Service is provided as a browser extension and a backend API.

3. Account Registration
3.1 Google Sign-In
You must sign in using a Google account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your Google account credentials. We do not store your Google password — authentication is handled entirely by Google's OAuth service.
3.2 Account Accuracy
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate and complete.
3.3 Account Responsibility
You are solely responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account at [email protected].
4. Acceptable Use
4.1 Permitted Use
You may use the Service to extract data from web pages for lawful purposes, including but not limited to:
- Market research and competitive analysis
- Academic research and journalism
- Price monitoring and comparison
- Collecting publicly available business information for market research and competitive analysis
- Personal data aggregation and analysis
4.2 Prohibited Use
You may NOT use the Service to:
- Extract data from websites in violation of their Terms of Service or applicable law
- Access or automate content protected by authentication systems without the website owner's explicit permission
- Extract personal data in violation of privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA)
- Circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat technical protection measures, including paywalls, rate limits, CAPTCHA, IP-based access controls, bot-detection systems, or other access restrictions
- Collect, harvest, or process personal contact information without explicit consent and a lawful basis, including personal email addresses, personal phone numbers, home addresses, social media profiles, or other personal identifiers
- Use the Service for spam, unsolicited outreach, bulk messaging, lead harvesting, or advertising campaigns that violate applicable laws or platform rules

4.3 Compliance with Website Terms
You are responsible for reviewing and complying with the Terms of Service of each website you access through the Service. We do not encourage or condone automated access to websites that prohibit it or where you lack authorization. Some websites may take legal or technical action against unauthorized automated access. You assume all risk associated with automated access to any target website.
5. User Content and Data
5.1 Your Data
You retain all ownership rights to the data you extract and the templates you create. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your extracted data or templates.
5.2 Templates
Scrape templates (selectors, field names, target URL patterns) are stored on our servers and linked to your account. These templates are private to your account. We do not share them with other users or use them for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
5.3 Scraped Data
Data extracted from web pages is processed locally in your browser and transferred directly to your chosen export destination (e.g., Google Sheets, downloaded file). We do not store, read, or retain extracted page content on our servers, except as described in Section 6 for template-analysis purposes.
6. Service Features and Limitations
6.1 Beta Service
The Service is currently offered in a beta phase. Features, pricing, and service levels may change without notice. During beta, the Service is provided "as is" without any warranty, and we may discontinue features at any time.
6.2 AI-Powered Features
The Service uses large language models (LLMs) and other AI systems to generate selectors, repair broken selectors, and analyze page structure. AI-generated output may not always be accurate. You should review the results before relying on them.
6.3 Template Analysis Data
When you use the Service to create an API-based template, a bounded first-page sample of the matched API response may be sent to our backend for the sole purpose of identifying items array paths, pagination patterns, and field structure. Secret authentication values (such as Authorization headers, cookies, CSRF tokens, signed headers, and session tokens) are excluded from this data before transmission. This data is used only for template analysis and is not stored beyond what is necessary for template configuration.
6.4 Google Sheets Export
The Service can export data to Google Sheets on your behalf using the Google Sheets API. You grant ScraperQ permission to create spreadsheets and write data to sheets you specify. We only access sheets in connection with your explicit export instructions. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not read, store, or use your Google Sheets data for any purpose other than providing the export functionality you request.
6.5 Page Inspection (chrome.debugger)
The Service uses Chrome's DevTools Protocol (CDP) to inspect page structure and network requests during template setup and, for API-based templates, when you explicitly start a data workflow. This inspection runs only while you are actively configuring a template or starting an API-based job. A Chrome "Debugging" banner is shown in the affected tab, and you must provide explicit one-time consent before the debugger is used for the first time. The Service does not inspect pages during unrelated background browsing.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with the following third-party services:
- Google OAuth — used for authentication. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
- Google Sheets API — used for data export. Governed by Google's API Terms of Service and the Google API Services User Data Policy
- Google AI (Gemini) — used for AI-powered selector generation and repair. Governed by Google's AI Terms
- Other AI providers (OpenRouter, etc.) — used as alternative AI backends
We are not responsible for the practices of third-party services. Your use of these services is governed by their respective terms and policies.
8. Intellectual Property
8.1 Our IP
The Service, including its code, design, branding, logos, and proprietary technology (such as the CSRE selector repair engine), is owned by ScraperQ and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the Service.
8.2 Feedback
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to use them without compensation.
9. Fees, Payments, and Subscriptions
9.1 Paid Plans
ScraperQ offers both free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans, such as Starter (currently $10/month), provide additional features including higher monthly page quotas, monthly credits, and increased AI operation limits. Plan details and pricing are available on our pricing page.
9.2 Billing and Payment
Payments for paid subscriptions are processed securely through our payment processor, Polar (powered by Stripe). By subscribing to a paid plan, you authorize us to charge the applicable fees on a monthly or annual basis, as selected during checkout. All charges are denominated in U.S. Dollars (USD). Subscription fees are billed in advance at the start of each billing period and will automatically renew unless canceled as described below.
9.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your paid subscription at any time from the ScraperQ extension's billing settings. Upon cancellation, your subscription will remain active and fully accessible until the end of the current billing period. No partial refunds will be given for the remaining time in the current billing period.
9.4 Downgrade to Free Plan
After the current billing period ends following a cancellation, your account will automatically be downgraded to the Free plan. At that time:
- Your credit balance will be restored to whatever you had remaining on the Free plan before upgrading (reconstructed from your account's transaction history). If you were never on the Free plan, you will receive the standard Free plan one-time credit grant.
- Your monthly page quota will be set to the Free plan limit (1,000 pages per month).
- Your saved templates, extracted data, and account settings will not be affected and remain accessible under Free plan limits.
9.5 Refund Policy
All payments for subscription fees are non-refundable. No refunds or credits will be provided for partial billing periods following a cancellation. If you believe a billing error has occurred, please contact [email protected].
9.6 Price and Features Changes
We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing and features at any time. Changes will take effect at the start of the next billing period following at least 14 days' notice. If you do not agree to a price or feature change, you may cancel your subscription before the new pricing or features take effect.
10. Termination
10.1 By You
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting [email protected].
10.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your use of the Service creates legal risk or liability for us
- We discontinue the Service (with reasonable notice where practicable)
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will delete your account data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, unless we are required by law to retain it.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US, IF ANY, IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ScraperQ and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to:

Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
