Which fields does the Capterra software category template extract?

The template runs in list mode. Each row has product_id, name, url, reviews_url, logo, rating, review_count, ease_of_use, features_rating, value_for_money, customer_service, description and features.

Can I scrape Capterra category pages in batch?

Yes. One run covers one category page. To go deeper, run the next page URL (for example /project-management-software/?page=2) as another run, or paste several category page URLs into the Batch Scraping tab and pick your scrape mode.

Do I need to log in to Capterra or use an API?

No. The template reads public Capterra category pages. It runs on the page you have open, and requests are sent from your browser without your cookies. You need a Google account only to sign in to ScraperQ, and a Google account is also needed for the Google Sheets export.

Which export formats are supported?

You can export to CSV, JSON, Excel (.xlsx) or Google Sheets. You set the format in the Run dialog before you run the template. Google Sheets needs a Google account connected to ScraperQ. See the export options guide for each format.

Can I scrape Capterra written reviews with this template?

No. Each row carries the per-product numbers the category card shows: overall rating, review count and the card's category score text, along with a reviews_url that links to that product's review pages. The written reviews behind those links are not extracted, so each row stays one product, not one review.

Which Capterra page do I run it on?

Run it on a software category page, such as www.capterra.com/project-management-software/. One category page returns about 25 product cards, and further pages come from the ?page=N parameter, which is why deeper coverage works as separate runs per page.

Capterra software category

The ScraperQ Capterra software category template exports Capterra software category to CSV, JSON, Excel or Google Sheets from the Chrome extension, with no code. It runs in 1 mode: list only. You set the item limit, the crawl mode and the export format when you start a run.

How the template reads the pages

Capterra category page (e.g. /project-management-software/): one product card per software, about 25 per page, ?page=N.

What can I set when I start a run?

Open the template and click Run. The Run Template dialog has these options:

Start URL: paste a search or list URL from the site, or choose Use current tab. This is the Single URL tab.
Batch Scraping: switch to the Batch Scraping tab to scrape many URLs in one run. Details only always needs a batch.
Scrape mode: List only.
Max items: the most items the run will return.
Crawl mode: Natural Browsing, Fast or Custom. Natural Browsing waits about 3-7 s between requests.
Export to: CSV, JSON, Excel (.xlsx) or Google Sheets.

Ways to run it

List only: Give it a Capterra list or search page and get one row per result with the list fields.

How do I scrape it?

Install the ScraperQ extension in Chrome, Edge or Brave. See the installation guide.
Open the Capterra page you want, with the filters and sort order you need.
Open the extension, go to Templates and choose the template.
Click Run, pick the scrape mode, and set Max items, the crawl mode and the export format.
Click Run in the dialog and follow the job in the Jobs tab.
When the job completes, download your data. See export options for each format.

How many can I scrape at once?

You can scrape as many as the site displays for your keywords. For large datasets, run multiple batches for best stability.
