What you can use it for

Competitor page monitoring

Batch the pages you watch monthly and match rows by page_id to see how followers and talking_about move between runs.

Lead lists

Collect category, intro and website for a list of business pages, with email and phone where the page publishes them, in one spreadsheet.

Brand page snapshots

Keep a dated row per page with followers, the latest_post text and its date, so one file shows how a brand's page stood on each run date.

Agency client reports

Hand a client a clean CSV of their own page fields and the same numbers for competitors, without writing any code.

The Complete Guide

Facebook public pages

The ScraperQ Facebook public pages template exports Facebook public pages to CSV, JSON, Excel or Google Sheets from the Chrome extension, with no code. It runs in 1 mode: details only. You set the item limit, the crawl mode and the export format when you start a run.

How the template reads the pages

  • A public Facebook page, read logged out. The login dialog hides the page but the data is in the HTML: og: meta tags (name, followers, talking about) and the page's embedded relay JSON (category, intro card with website, email, phone, address, latest post). Groups, events and marketplace need a login and are not covered.

What can I set when I start a run?

Open the template and click Run. The Run Template dialog has these options:

  • Start URL: paste the public page URL, or choose Use current tab.
  • Batch Scraping: switch to the Batch Scraping tab to scrape many URLs in one run. Details only always needs a batch.
  • Scrape mode: Details only.
  • Max items: the most items the run will return.
  • Crawl mode: Natural Browsing, Fast or Custom. Natural Browsing waits about 3-7 s between requests.
  • Export to: CSV, JSON, Excel (.xlsx) or Google Sheets.

Ways to run it

  • Details only: Give it a batch of detail page URLs (paste them or upload a CSV or Excel file); one row per URL. Batch is required in this mode.

How do I scrape it?

  1. Install the ScraperQ extension in Chrome, Edge or Brave. See the installation guide.
  2. Open the public Facebook page you want to read.
  3. Open the extension, go to Templates and choose the template.
  4. Click Run, pick the scrape mode, and set Max items, the crawl mode and the export format.
  5. Click Run in the dialog and follow the job in the Jobs tab.
  6. When the job completes, download your data. See export options for each format.

How many can I scrape at once?

The template returns one record per page URL, so the row count in your export is simply the size of the URL list in your batch. A batch run works through the list one page at a time, and the run dialog shows the pages it needs against your monthly quota before you start.

Before you start

  • The template reads public pages. It runs on the page you have open, and requests are sent from your browser without your cookies.
  • ScraperQ does not bypass CAPTCHAs or anti-bot checks.
  • Facebook can show different results by location, so your results can differ from another user's.

Terms of use

Facebook's terms of use may restrict automated collection of its pages. Check the current terms before you run this template, and use it only for data you are allowed to collect.
